Explore Mars Through High-Resolution Panoramas




NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) released their first billion-pixel panorama today from rover Curiosity, detailing the Mars landscape. This 1.3-billion-pixel image was stitched together from nearly 900 individual images using GigaPan technology. Aqueti Releases Gigapixel Photos for Public Access

Aqueti, a new company commercializing gigapixel photography technology, and Gigapan have recently collaborated to provide an interactive way for users to view and explore images. Aqueti has developed aprototype Aware2 camera that captures images at incredible detail. Their most recent image, the 2013 Duke Commencement has been uploaded to gigapan.com, where users can zoom in, explore, as well as tag themselves via Facebook through GigaTag. This collaboration is an exciting development for the gigapixel photography community as we continue to advance and improve the way people capture, share and explore high-resolution images.
